Robot Ladder v0.2.0 has been released! New Difficulty 'Spotlight Mode' and Scoring System!

My name is Kinn, I'm the person behind the programming of this game. The art is done by Windy (@wnnd1o on X).

In this version of the game, we have introduced Spotlight Mode and an enhanced score caluclation. We're hoping that this will increase the skill ceiling and add new challenges for experienced players.

As a note, you can in fact play with both difficulty modes enabled for an extreme challenge, your score will reflect this choice. For beginners, the score calculation will be more rewarding as how fast you scale the platforms now factors into your score. We were careful to make sure that in this version of the game, a player who plays this version compared to the previous version will not have their score decreased as a result of this change.

Features:

• Keys/second has been added the HUD, measuring how fast the Player ascends.
• KPS is calculated by taking a tally for how many keypresses (platforms) passed in a half-second, then averaging the last 10 tallies.
• Spotlight Mode has been added, narrowing the view to only immediately around the Robot.
• The Score counter has been moved to the Platform counter.
• Score will now be calculated as follows:
• Every platform, the KPS will be added to the score, bottoming out at 1 KPS.
• For every difficulty mode enabled, a bonus +0.2 points will be added to the score calculation.

Bug Fixes:

• Fixed a bug in Hidden Mode where the platforms would disappear before the camera finished moving.
• Fixed various bugs with the HUD displaying messages at incorrect times, more fixes planned when the HUD is overhauled.
